A cloudy summer evening while I was going home, I suddenly decided to stop by one of the malls to visit a bookstore. But fate had a surprise in store for me, for I ended up in a perfume store!!
I’ll quit being dramatic now…basically I entered the store to find some of my favorite fragrances on display – Elizabeth Arden, Escada, Burberry and Azzaro. While I was eagerly scurrying towards Elizabeth Arden line, I chanced to look upon Burberry’s shelves and lo behold, found the elusive perfume ‘London’. While I was secretly delighted to find that, the salesguy eagerly thrust both the new and the older versions of this particular fragrance towards me. I was thoroughly confused as you could but was saved by the notes that helped me make the choice.
On spraying Burberry Original, I felt I was transported to a very quaint and musty bookstore in London. I could vaguely identify cedar (felt it was a bit woody) and musk ofcourse but couldn’t make out what the rest of the notes were. So I did what a new perfumista would do – googled out the notes. I was right in the fragrance being woody. The blend comprises peach, apricot, sandalwood, cedar, amber and musk. What I didn’t understand is how it is being marketed as a floral fragrance.
And since I didn’t want to end up smelling like a bookstore, I moved onto the London fragrance.
Anyways moving onto Burberry London, the fragrance is perfectly bundled in Burberry’s chequer patterned shades not to mention the ad featuring Rachel Weisz making it all the more appealing. I couldn’t really recall any of the familiar notes so I won’t bother elaborating more on this. Suffice to say this appealed to me hands down! But in any case, the top notes are rose, Clementine and honeysuckle; middle notes are tiare flower (quite exotic!), peony and jasmine; and the base notes are sandalwood, musk and patchouli.
One thing’s for sure, most of my favorite perfumes invariably comprise of rose, peony, sandalwood, musk, vanilla, patchouli to name a few. Oh well! To add to it I ended up buying Burberry Summer as well since it had this refreshing sense of feel to it. By this time, I was coming down with a headache so didn’t bother enjoying the fragrance at the store. The notes for this one include – Citrus, Green Apple, Water Lily, Freesia, Rose, White Musk and Moss, making it a perfect floral fragrance for those breezy and rainy summer evenings. The packaging gives the feeling of smelling the soft chequered suede in different shades and it adds to the appeal making the Burberry brand as something unique to add onto your collection. And what do you know, I stepped out of the store only to discover that there was a heavy downpour!

Babes..the way you are going , you are going to need a separate cupboard for your perfumes.
Hmmm…yes
they are all dispersed across my wardrobes currently
You should get a nice glass case made for them
well if I had it my way at home…believe me I would’ve done that.
